Dr. Randy Freese
Superintendent, Wisconsin Heights School District
On behalf of the staff and Board of Education, welcome to the Wisconsin Heights School District.
Our district takes great pride in its students, programs, facilities and staff, and our work is focused on obtaining the very best outcomes for students and families.
Children and their development lie in the center of what we strive to do in our district endeavors. Whether in academic, social, physical, or emotional areas, our fundamental purpose is to help our students learn and grow. We want every child to acquire skills, maximize their talents, expand their horizons, and develop a curiosity about the world. Our schools, families, and community are committed to this venture and we strive daily to make this happen for “Every Child…Every Class…Every Day”.
The contemporary global society and economy that we live in has a variety of implications for our students and schools. Certainly enhancing educational achievement and providing equitable opportunity for all students is a primary implication. Developing significant communication, technological, and social skills to live and work productively among the multitude of norms and societies in the global marketplace is also important. Nurturing curiosity, imagination, and lifelong learning is yet another component in preparing our children for the future.
With these implications in mind, the district vision statement is to “Develop engaged citizens through diverse experiences and rigorous academic expectations”. The following priorities have been established to guide our efforts:
- Improve literacy achievement for all students
- Improve mathematics achievement for all students
- Improve and expand learning opportunities so that every graduate is college and/or career ready
- Transform instruction, classrooms, and schools to ensure that equitable learning opportunities are accessed by all students, including those from diverse, cultural, linguistic, or ability backgrounds
- Ensure that technology is effectively integrated into classroom instruction
Again, welcome to our district. We believe it is a wonderful place for children and encourage your family to experience the large variety of programs, activities, and opportunities that our community has created. We look forward to working with you and stand ready to assist your child in any way.
