District Policy and Procedures
State and federal laws require public school districts to annually provide notice of specific school board policies existing in relation to student and/or parental rights in several areas.
Many of these policies are provided in the context of the school handbook.

- State and federal laws require public school districts to annually provide notice of specific school board policies existing in relation to student and/or parental rights in several areas including the following:
- The right to inspect the district's Asbestos Management Plan.
- The district's participation in the National School Breakfast/Lunch program and eligibility requirements for free or reduced lunch prices.
- Notice of the curriculum used in Human Growth and Development instruction and the parent's right to inspect the curriculum and instructional materials.
- Notice of the rights of students to participate in the Youth Options program.
- Notice of the district's provision for the accommodation of students' religious beliefs and the district's practices for handling complaints of discrimination.
- Notice of the district's special education services, how to acquire the services, and the disabled student's and parent's rights.
- Notice of student attendance policies and how the district responds to requests for the provision of program and/or curriculum modifications.
- The district's practice with regard to access to, privacy, and retention of student records.
- Notice of the district's ownership and possessory control of all student lockers and the right to search same.
- Notice of the district's eligibility for Title I program funds and the rights of students and parents in relation to same.
