Wisconsin Heights Library Media Centers
Wisconsin Heights School District takes pride in their four library media centers, one at each of the elementary schools, one in the middle school, and one in the high school. These LMCs offer students and staff the opportunity to use up-to-date resources, both in-print, such as current reference, nonfiction, and fiction books, and non-print, such as desktop and laptop computers, printers, copiers, and Smartboards.
Each of the four LMCs are bright, user-friendly spaces where classes can meet to use the computers, (there are enough for an entire class of students), or learn lessons using the Smartboard. Also, at the middle school and high school LMCs, individual students can utilize the resources during their study halls or targeted support.
At Mazomanie Elementary (grades 3-5), the doors are always open from before school starts to the end of the school day, for students and staff to check out books or use the computers. Also, classes have an opportunity to come to the LMC once a week for scheduled information literacy or guidance lessons with the Library Media Specialist or the Guidance Counselor.
At Black Earth Elementary (grades PK-2), students can come to the LMC during the school day to check out books or take an Accelerated Reader test on the computers. As at Mazomanie Elementary, Black Earth Elementary classes also have an opportunity to come to the LMC once a week for scheduled information literacy or guidance lessons with the Library Media Specialist or the Guidance Counselor.
The Wisconsin Heights LMC educational assistants are friendly and always ready to help with student or staff needs, and all four of the LMCs are under the direction of the knowledgeable licensed Library Media Specialist who strives to provide a welcoming, bright, user-friendly place for all the students and staff of Wisconsin Heights School District.
