We would like to share information with our families related to Governor Evers’ announcement to close all K-12 schools in the state of Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Heights School District has decided to close school for students beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020, and will remain closed pending guidance from our local, state, and federal health officials. Current guidance states the earliest return date would be April 6, 2020. We will continue to monitor that date. All school activities and events on our campuses (including spring sports) are also suspended until further notice. We will share more information via email as our plans take shape.
Each building has been developing a contingency plan to allow for the educational process to continue. You can anticipate the formal communication of these plans next week.
We strongly recommend all families avoid non-essential travel outside of our immediate geographic region. The Wisconsin State Department of Health Services advises that people who travel to places where there is community spread of COVID-19 (both domestic and international) self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms for 14 days upon return.
We are sensitive to other needs that families may have, and we will work to support our community during this challenging time.
Mr. Jordan Sinz
