All Dane County Superintendents convened today on a conference call to discuss the public health situation. As a result of this conversation, we have jointly decided that ALL Dane County Schools will be closed effective immediately. The Wisconsin Heights School District will no longer be open on Monday, March 16, or Tuesday, March 17.
During the time of school closure (March 16 – April 5), the following conditions apply:
All District-sponsored events (concerts, performances, etc.) and out-of-district field trips are canceled.
All sports and other extracurricular practices and competitions are canceled.
School buildings will be open to staff only.
All District facilities are closed for use by internal or external groups. This includes any individual or group that had previously reserved space in our buildings/grounds during this closure period (including the week of March 23 – 27).
Further Information: We will send additional information regarding virtual /offsite instruction, access to schools to retrieve medications, technology, other personal items needed in the short-term, and other pertinent information regarding this closure. Please take the time to read all of those updates.
Thank you! None of us have ever experienced anything like this in our lifetime. I am so grateful to you for your patience and understanding as we work through this together. Look for follow up communication from the district on Monday.
My best wishes to you and your entire family as we collectively navigate these unprecedented challenges.
Mr. Jordan Sinz
