July 13, 2020
We hope this email finds you enjoying good health. First, thank you to parents who recently completed the return to school survey. This is an update on our planning efforts for the 2020-21 school year. We have been committing substantial energy to prepare for the new school year since the week after the 19-20 school year finished. That being said, we want to provide some updates:
We are in the process of following up with all families that did not complete the survey electronically. Our goal is to get feedback from all families by July 15.
We surveyed our staff members regarding their circumstances with regard to the start of the school year as well.
Public Health Madison & Dane County will be releasing their return to school regulations this week. This information will be the most relevant because it is from our local health department who possesses the ability to enforce such regulations.
While we have not made final decisions regarding the start of the school year, we are committed to providing multiple options to meet student and staff needs best. As of today, we are planning multiple options that include in-person instruction and online instruction based on student/family preferences. We will share a detailed report with the school board on July 27 at their regular meeting (6 PM at the MS/HS facility).
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to test our country, the Wisconsin Heights School District will continue to do our best in the face of evolving challenges.
