Introduction

Hello, I am a special education teacher, currently working with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. I am enjoying the students and staff at Wisconsin Heights Elementary. I like the small community feel, and the team approach to doing what's best for the children and their families.

I grew up in Wisconsin, and continue to explore the wonderful features of our state. I was hired in 2016.  I feel very fortunate to be here and to work with such amazing students and staff!

My Classroom

I work 1-on-1 or with small groups of students on their yearly goals. The atmosphere in my classroom is cozy, friendly, and personalized. There is a mix of technology and hands-on resources, including a large collection of books of all reading levels.

I also guide, coach, and instruct students throughout the school environments (their grade level classrooms, recess, related arts classes).

Teaching Style

I promote independence, hard work, confidence, and success. I notice positive actions and communicate my observations to my students. I often reward students with short breaks after they focus well on their challenging skills practice.

I work closely with parents, classroom teachers, educational assistants, administrators, related-arts teachers, other special education teachers, counselors, and occupational, physical, and speech therapists, to meet the needs of students. I enjoy all of the interactions with my students and the team of people supporting them.
