Today's new staff highlight is on #VanguardPride staff member, Liana Ziegler! Liana is our new Middle School Special Education Educational Assistant. Liana is originally from Northern California but has been in Mazomanie for 2 years. She enjoys paddle boarding and sewing. She has spent the last 3 years as school support staff and is excited to develop more connection with our close community. Welcome to the team, Liana!

Elementary had a Homecoming Pep Rally today! The HS band started the assembly with the Wisconsin Heights school song , which sounded A-MAZING! Ms. Kman then had the students sing the elementary school song. , announced the High School sports teams, and the moment they were all waiting for.....the winners of the door decorating contest. Vinny the Vanguard was giving high fives all around and the excitement was high! The sports teams created arches at the exits and the students walked through them to close the event. Mrs. Gullickson celebrated by walking through, too! It's wonderful to have opportunities like this to celebrate as a district! #VanguardPride

Please help us welcome our new Elementary Kitchen Lead, Kaitlyn Alexander! Kaitlyn comes to us with a Pastry and Baking Degree. She was a manager at Subway for 9 years and then worked at Ingleside for a short while. Her hobbies include going to the gym and baking, and she says she's very excited about starting here at Wisconsin Heights. Welcome to the team, Kaitlyn!

Join us in welcoming new #VanguardPride staff member, Andrea Moser! Andrea is originally from Richland Center, and is our new Literacy Coach. She comes to us with experience as a High School English teacher for 8.5 years in Fort Atkinson and High School Literacy Coach for 4 years. Her hobbies include hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, baking, traveling, and Brewer Games. When asked what excites her about joining Wisconsin Heights she says "I’m very excited to be joining the Middle and High School Staff. It is going to be a fantastic year!" Welcome to the team, Andrea!

The Elementary school has been working on finishing their Vanguard Passport. The passport is completed when every class can show they understand the expectations for the classroom, playground, bathroom, bus, and hallways. One of the rewards for finishing the expectation passport was freezy pops. Ms. G's second graders enjoyed the tasty freezies on a hot day last Friday. Way to go #VanguardPride elementary students!

There are a few new teachers from last school year to whom we also need to give a shout out! Meet #VanguardPride High School Special Education Teacher and High School Student Council Advisor, Craig Braunschweig! Craig is now in his second year of teaching at the Wisconsin Heights High School. He has previously worked as a paraprofessional at Webb Middle School in Reedsburg for four years. He then continued on for two years at the Wisconsin Dells Middle School as a Special Education Teacher and Student Council Advisor. He attended UW Baraboo Sauk County and earned an Associate's Degree in History and UW Superior with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. When not in School, you may see him at different historical sites around Wisconsin, attending Wisconsin Badgers sporting events, watching a musical at the Overture Center, or at a dog park with his two dogs. He's very excited to start the school year and to be a part of the Wisconsin Heights family. Thanks for being a great addition to the Wisconsin Heights team, Craig!
