Activities during high school: Volleyball, softball, art club, and pep band. Dream job: I would want to be a gamer or someone who could just read all day. Most proud of: I’m proud of getting through a really hard class even when I wanted to drop them. I’m also proud of making new friends throughout my high school career. Congratulations, Sophia! This Saturday, March 23rd, Base Camp in Mazomanie will be hosting an ice cream social! Come have some fun and some ice cream and help our #VanguardPride seniors have the most memorable prom possible! See you there!

#VanguardPride 7th grade math celebrated Pi Day! When they walked into the classroom on Pi Day (March14th), the students were told there were treats for Pi Day and Albert Einstein's birthday, which also happens to be Pi Day, but the treats were stolen and locked up in the boxes, and they would have to solve problems involving Pi to get the combinations into the boxes. The students had a great time, and all of the teams got into the boxes and were rewarded with Pi-shaped sugar cookies homemade by Mrs. Meinholz and her mom.

Activities during high school: Basketball, volleyball, and Lacrosse. Dream job: Orthodontist Favorite memory: Our class trip to California junior year. Congratulations to Mrs. McCartney's second grade class for winning the Reading Iditarod! They won a toy stuffed husky named Miska to keep as a class mascot. Congratulations also goes to Ms. Royston's first grade class. They brought up the tail end and received the traditional red lantern award. Overall, the #VanguardPride students of WHES read over 54,000 minutes during Read Along the Iditarod Week. AWESOME!!!!!

Personal Finance students chose a career, car, apartment, and a habit like coffee drinking or video gaming, and calculated how well their chosen lifestyle fit budget guidelines. #VanguardPride

4th graders had some Moore Tech time with Mrs. Moore on Friday! They learned how to layer images and create some awesome word art. Thanks for the tips Mrs. Moore! #VanguardPride

The next #Classof2024 #SeniorSpotlight is on #VanguardPride senior, Peyton Wolf! Plans after graduation: Attend College and major in construction management. Activities during high school: Football, basketball, soccer, and track and field. Dream job: Construction manager or head at Deck Dogs LLC. Favorite memory: Going on the California trip during my junior year and hiking to Yosemite Falls. Most proud of: The friends I made and my improvement in sports. Congratulations, Peyton! We're so proud of you!

Ms. Frannie's class has enjoyed learning about the Iditarod Sled Dog Race this week and doing lots of reading to compete with the other classes at school for the most minutes read. We saw pictures of the trail, watched a video of the Northern Lights dancing in the sky and picked a musher to follow and learn about. Today's #Classof2024 #SeniorSpotlight is on #VanguardPride senior, Kaylee Statz! Plans after graduation: Either go to cosmetology school or Madison college for vet tech. Dream job: Veterinarian. Favorite memory: Going on the California trip my Junior year, and lab science with Mr. Jergens. Most proud of: Getting through all my challenges and graduating this year. Congrats, Kaylee! Good luck with all you do!

To end their government unit, Ms. Spahn's 4th-grade class participated in a hands-on activity where they created and presented their own bills. From discussing the benefits of extra recess to National Coffee Day, these young learners showcased their creativity and critical thinking skills. Bills were either vetoed or approved by the president to become laws. The class is looking forward to their trip to Wisconsin's capital this spring, where they will learn more about the state government. #VanguardPride

High school and middle school staff competed against students in the Mid-Winter basketball game. The #VanguardPride students took the victory away from the faculty.

The MS Student Council visited Heartland Village on Monday and played BINGO with some of the residents. A great time was had by the residents and #VanguardPride students!
