7th grade students in Mrs. Schmitt's social studies class learned about how geographer's think spatially. In pairs, students had to describe a room in their house, but they were not allowed to look at the piece of paper that their partner was drawing on. The partner had to draw the map.
This activity allowed students to understand the relationship of location from one object to another, use effective communication, and visualize an image.
