Last Friday, Seniors took their class trip to Great America. The group stopped at Kopp’s in Brookfield on the way home for dinner/ice cream.

Seniors Violet B. and Sarah L. have been hard at work making portraits to send to children in orphanages in Malaysia as a part of the Memory Project.
Each portrait is done from a photo of the child and will be sent along with a photo and message from the Heights student.
These two are such talented artists and have nailed the likeness of each portrait.

Meet the 8th grade CO2 Racing Champion for 2023-2024!
Isaac S. beat out Trimester 1 Champion Eliotte N. and Trimester 3 Champion Elizabeth W. to become Wisconsin Heights CO2 Champion for this year.

#VanguardPride 4th graders in Mrs. Stadler's class were busy this week reviewing decimals. They created number lines to identify and locate equivalent fractions and decimals.
Very creative, and the kids are ending the year on a strong note!
On Thursday morning a rainbow appeared above the elementary school just before students headed in for the day! They showed excitement and chanted “rain-bow, rain-bow!”

Last Thursday (5/9), the #VanguardPride second graders went to the UW Geology Museum.
They saw lots of really cool things like fossils, crystals, glow in the dark rocks, and a huge globe! The kiddos are wrapping up the Rock Unit and fossils are being introduced this week! Perfect timing to visit.
7th grade math reviewed how to find the surface area of prisms by playing a review game called "Shoes in a Shoe Box."
Students were split into teams, and each team got to be represented by a pair of shoes, such as Hey Dudes, Vans, Nike, and Skechers. As students completed problems correctly, they got to put a picture of their team shoe in one of four different shoe boxes. Each shoe box represented a point value, but students didn't know the values. Students worked to complete as many problems as possible, so they could put as many shoes into the boxes as possible. At the end of the class, Mrs. Meinholz revealed the point value of each shoe box, and the students calculated their score for the game.
The game was a motivating way to get some work done and review for a quiz!

Fun is being had in Ms. Gullickson's room. The class has been sifting through different sized rocks for their geology unit in science, and painting for Earth Day projects.

Earlier this week, the entire WHES had a “Drop Everything and Draw” activity, which they earned for positive behavior. The students loved it and it was well deserved!
